Amani  Safari
11 days Featuring: Tarangeri, Lake Manyara, Lake Eyasi, Ngorongoro, Serengeti,
If time permits take the Amani Safari to get the complete experience of the Northern Safari Circuit and the diverse cultures of Tanzania.Amani is the Swahili word used to describe something natural and original, this program combines a traditional wildlife safari with cultural tourism to create an overall genuine and authentic Tanzanian experience. Spend 11 days traveling through the northern Safari circuit national parks as well as visiting several local tribes. Enjoy the diverse landscapes, game viewing, and cultural experiences of each day

Spend the first day in Tarangeri National Park with massive herds of elephants and over 550 bird species.
Enjoy the river scenery that attracts hundreds of animals each year. Proceed on the second day to Lake Manyara National park in search of the elusive tree climbing lions as well as viewing several species of monkeys in the rainforest and the Paradise of Flamingos on the lake. Have the third and morning of the fourth day to visit, hunt, and dance with the Bushmen in Lake Eyasi, one of the only conservative communities that still exists. The tribes’ lifestyle is entirely dependent on hunting and gathering, feeding on meat, fruits, and tree roots. Continue in the afternoon of day four visiting local farms and learning about the traditional cultivation of crops in Tanzania.
On the sixth and seventh days visit the legendary Serengeti to witness the great migration (season permitting) as well as scanning the savannah for predatory cats; lions, cheetah, and leopard.  Enjoy one last game drive in the Serengeti in the morning of the eighth day before driving through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and have the option to stop at a Masai cultural boma where you are required to pay a $150US (per car) development fee directly to the Masai village. Listen to traditional Masai songs and learn about their traditional lifestyle. Continue onto one of the natural wonders of the world, the Ngorongoro Crater that boasts the one of the highest concentrations of wildlife in Africa, for a full game drive. Here you have a good chance of spotting the almost extinct Black Rhino as well as the opportunity to see dozens of hippo, buffalo, and other game
.

Spend three days in the Serengeti, scanning the savannah for prides of lions resting or hunting. Watch for a few basking in the sun on top of huge rocks, a scene straight out of Disney’s Lion King. Also keep an eye out for leopards, buffalo, elephants, giraffe, zebra, cheetahs, monkeys, impala, and a number of other wild animals.  Travel on to Ngorongoro Conservation Area driving past traditional Masai villages and tall Masai men herding their cattle over the rolling hills. Descend 800 meters for a day game drive into the Ngorongoro Crater, one of the natural wonders of the world, having one of the highest concentrations of game in Africa.

On the last day make the final stop in Lake Manyara, the only place in the World that lions climb trees! If you’re lucky you will find one, or a few, lounging in the treetops above your safari truck!                   Lemosho Glades Route

Duration: 8 days
The Lemosho Glades route, like the Machame route, is a camping only option.  It traverses the mountain on arguably the most beautiful side for 8 days.  From the trailhead at Lemosho Glades, you will trek through the rainforest on trails that are overgrown in places with rich flora and fauna. This quiet route leads us up into the moorland zone of the Shira Plateau. The views from the plateau, across the mountain and to the plains below, are nothing short of spectacular. Then, you will traverse the southwestern flank of Kilimanjaro, climbing as high as 4,500m, before contouring below the spectacular Western Breach, and descending to Baranco Camp to spend the night at 3,900m. From here, the southern icefields come into view as we climb the Baranco Wall, a steep 300m climb which wends its way up a trail, without being exposed, nor precipitous, to eventually level off and give views of the Heim Glacier on the mountain’s south face. The route continues eastwards underneath the Decken and Rebman Glaciers to Karanga Camp, from where we consolidate our acclimatisation with a short day to Barafu Camp, our springboard for the summit. The dawn ascent of Uhuru Peak – the highest point in Africa – will be the toughest day that most people have ever experienced. On our final day of trekking, we descend to Mweka Gate.
